The Chapel on the Cliffs (5e)
Publisher: Goblin Stone
by Kevin B. [Verified Purchaser]

This is a fun module to DM and play. It has a small, simple, yet atmoshperic plot and offers some good investigative role-playing and problem-solving elements. I like the side-plots of the Ilmer Barrow, Richard's Cabin, the Rowan Tree, Aina's (mermaid?) cave and Elson's ghost ship, which are sure to get the imaginations of the PCs going. The inevitable chase and siege elements can be somewhat challenging to DM, but I encourage common sense smooth roleplaying rather than specific rules for handling this. The illustrations are very good and a very important element to gameplay.

Banquet of the Damned

Well done Benoit.

The verbiage here does a pretty good job of setting the mood in the description of the backstory, NPCs and locations. While light on treasure and monsters, it allows for a good amount of roleplaying fun and I really like the setup of the (corrupted) elven hunter ambush, with their flanking traps. As others have mentioned, well done on the maps as well. Good NPC and location lists at the end.

If there is one thing I would have liked to see added, it would have been some options for how the Gulabus could be subdued without physically harming Carla.

Against the Goblins- A Swords & Wizardry Adventure
Publisher: Creation's Edge Games
by Kevin B. [Verified Purchaser]

The first full-scale module from the designer of the mini-dungeons, this module comes across as a well-thought out and well-detailed adventure with multiple parts. While the adventure's monsters are not greatly original, the chaos element plot is well done and there is a touch of light humor. The adventure affords some flexibility to the DM and the PCs and each of the goblin tribes and the locations they reside in offer a slighly different challenge to the PCs. It is an excellent beginner adventure. Rating 4.5 out of 5
