I am pleased to report that initial problems with the STL files have been rectified and that I can whole heartedly recommend this product for those who are using Simplify 3D to slice the models.

I am sorry you are having so much trouble with the files. I am currently working on cleaning them up both in terms of mesh issues when not using Cura and file size. This is my first attempt at remixing stls. Thank you for your feedback.

I forgot to mention that I have taken them off sale today until I have worked out the issues. I look forward to getting these fixed and back out to you and others as soon as I can. Again thank you.

John S. Thank you for your feedback on the fixes. I am happy to hear that you do not have any issues with the remixes. Thanks to you and others, I was able to fix them. It also made me go back and rework 2 other projects before I released them. A dwarven tower and castle walls, that I am still working on to release.

HG3D - Travellers Carriage - Raghaven Collection
Publisher: Hobgoblin-3D
by John S. [Verified Purchaser]

Hobgoblin 3D has put out a number of great STL files for 3D printing, the Travellers Carriage is certainly one of them. I printed out mine at the highest resolution possible, on my MakerGear M2 printer. Using eSun PLA filament, with a bare build plate coated (reasonable, no need for more than 3 strips X and 3 strips Y) with purple Aquanet Hair Spray. I split the parts between two print runs, the wheels, front axel, undercarriage and front seat which all need supports. The second print has the main body, side panels and the luggage rack (the PLA bridge very well for the top rail) without supports. It printed great, with the usual surface result for those pieces that required supports. The rougher surfaces are concealed, for the truly picky you can use some Bondo and sand down to a much better finish. One of the nice feature is that the front axel snaps into the undercarriage without needing glue and is able to turn. Overall, I say that this model rivals the work of Printable Scenery and is silghtly better in terms of crisp details what a person can expect from Fat Dragon (I am a fan of Fat Dragon 3D models as well).

A Song of Ice and Fire Campaign Guide: A Game of Thrones Edition
Publisher: Green Ronin Publishing

When you produce something for a licensed property there is a tightrope that you have to walk. Green Ronin does this by stating that their line of products for this setting are not canon, instead an alternate world that you can explore. I am guessing that is the reason that you don’t see hard numbers for the major houses within this book.

I feel that they did do a good job presenting the material overall and give you details for the major npcs from the novels as well as various locations. It certainly provides a good foundation for a GM to create additional details for their campaigns.

If I was king for a day, I would have done some things differently but overall this is a strong product. As with the main book though, it is NOT printer friendly.

A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying: A Game of Thrones Edition

What works for me, a D6 game system that dispenses with the need for attributes and goes straight to what your character uses, skills (i.e. abilities). The system is built around the setting, not simply another D20 cut and paste job (THANK YOU Green Ronin)! Not only is the system tailored to the setting but they actually got it right.

What doesn’t work for me, it is not a print friendly book and no attempt was made to make it so. This was not an issue for me as I bought this as backup for a copy I bought from a brick and mortar store. However, for those that are looking at this as an alternative to purchasing a physical copy it would be a BIG issue.

If you want a backup to your physical copy of this book, that allows you to search through it for key words in a flash, then I can recommend it.

If you are looking for a cheap alternative to the physical book, which you plan on printing out, then I would say you should pass on this product.
