5e x 5 Future Equipment

This second expansion book following the Modern Equipment book and requires the basic core found in the 5e x 5 (Fantasy) system and adds personal targeting systems, interactive armor, laser weapons, high frequency swords, bio agents, nanotechnology, concusion guns, plasma weapons, rail guns, and other equipment. It is converted from MSRD.

Against dragons, zombies, demons, and orcs use laser, plasma, pulse, gravity, and energy weapons. Give your melee and ranged futuristic upgrades to make their monster fighting destructive!

This book has no illustrations nor artwork. It's main feature is mixed double and single-column text to help reduce the page count. It has a table of contents with a simple page number in the upper right corner. The cover is a simple black cover.

A 5e x 5 Character book is required to create player characters. The 5e x 5 Combat & Conditions is needed for combat prodeedures however there are some notes on how to use the gun feats in combat because guns are not found in the C&C book. The 5e x 5 Monsters book is used for the modern creatures and fantastic monsters. It contains animals, vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, and other NPC stats that the gamemaster can change by swapping out the fantasy/medieval gear for future gear and changing the names to modern equivalents.

A future campaign may be doable without using either of the 5e x 5 Spells or the 5e x 5 Equipment and Treasures books. The future technology, guns, and armor, computers, and gear found in this book may take those two book's place, unless your campaign has magic. Or you may want to add some of the swords which my be available in this future day.

Core Books (two column versions available)

Spells has a background scroll version.

Characters has some border background graphics.

These current versions do not have any other images.

A. Two-column

This version was our first upgrade which uses a combination of narrower margins and two-columns to compact the text significantly. There are neither illustrations nor artwork.

B. Commercially available art

This version uses commercially available art Peter found from several sources. Because of this, you may see art pieces found in other works. It uses creative commons, clip art, and public domain art.

C. Co-author Art version

It has all the features of the previous version with art found by Peter and also includes art by Ken of monsters that were not chosen or available with the commercially available art. Those pieces make this product a more unique version of the monster book.

The d20 into d100 conversion project

In this project, we sought to increase the available d100 OGL content. This converts an alternative core that can be used by those that like rolling two ten sided dice for their RPG gaming.

Our method was to change SRDv5.1, a few d20 OGL sources, some PRD, and a little SRDv3.5 from ability scores, skills, and saves that are d20 based (from values 1 to 30 into values 1 to 150), bonuses that are d20 based (from values -5 to +10 into values -25 to +50), and while preserving the multiple sided damage and hit points system. thousands of numbers were converted.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
