Destroyed Village

Not all villages can stand the test of time, but it might not have simply been old age that brought these walls down. This modular building kit provides plenty of flexibility for you to add more dimension to your tabletop games! Perhaps your players have stumbled across the remains of a small hermit's house. Maybe an entire village was laid to waste by war machines. The Destroyed Village set gives you the tools to add a variety of interesting sites to explore.

What is included:

This 28mm scale kit contains 33 pages of individual customizable wall segments in 2", 4" and 6" lengths, allowing for a huge variety of layouts. Detailed instructions are provided to walk you through building not only simple structures quickly, but also more complex models with interesting floorplans and interior walls. The buildings can be made to fold flat for more convenient storage, or can be assembled as a static building for greater stability. Each wall segment length comes in a number of unique destroyed patterns with selectable windows and doors. Grass, dirt, stone tile and wood flooring options are available with an optional 1" grid.

What is required:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to use the files provided
  • Heavy paper (100# cardstock or matte photo paper)
  • Printer
  • Hobby knife
  • Metal ruler
  • Cutting mat
  • Glue
  • Black marker (optional)

Hey, I am doing this a little different, I have cut the floors in half, printed with the tile floor option, and using undamaged walls, I'm making a dungeon maze for tabletop fantasy wargaming. Each section is separate, and I'm making different layouts, so I can assemble a different maze each time. I am also making some rooms, for interest.

I love when people get creative, since it's just paper! Have you looked at our Darkfast Dungeons compatible terrain (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/6291/Paper-Realms/subcategory/19948_32114/Darkfast-Dungeons) or some of the terrain straight from Okumarts Games (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/142052)? It might be similar to what you're doing with this kit!

I just bought this and I see that the PDF has silhouette registration marks. Where can I find the cut files for this? Also do all your models have cut files?

Hi Sam - thanks for trying out the Destroyed Village kit!

It turns out many of the early Paper Realms releases (the Buildings category) were set up to make it easy to make cutfiles, but the cutfiles weren't created. All of the sets in the modular terrain category as well as the props category should have cutfiles, however. That said, I'm happy to create the cutfiles and update the package - you're the first person to ask! It may take me a couple days, since there are 21 wall files, and the layer options will have to be accounted for.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
