Class E+D Starports

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Whether along major routes or far-off regions of space, travelers will encounter starports in almost any star system in civilized space. They represent vital hubs for space travel, offering the opportunity for ship maintenance and repairs, and are the gateways both into space and to innumerable worlds and celestial bodies found in Imperial space and beyond.

Unlike the large and gleaming class C, B, and A starports with their intricate layout, the smaller class E and D starports embody plain and neatly arranged havens far-off the bustling main routes. Despite a similar layout and many other things they have in common, some of them seem as strange as the worlds on which they are located.

Inside this supplement, you will find:

  • General information on class E and D starports
  • Detailed descriptions (including floor plans) of a class E and class D starport
  • Notes on starport variants
  • Tables for making your starports unique and memorable
  • A list of starport personnel travelers will encounter on their visit

Although this product contains information relevant to Mongoose Traveller, it can be used in all sci-fi settings.

(The maps are provided in various segments and need to be assembled. One inch is scaled to represent 1.5 meters)

No, up to now I don't have any other floorplans.
I was planning on making some in the near future for a class C+B starport, however. But this might take a while as I have some other projects in the pipeline. But now that I know that there are people out there interested in floorplans for larger starports, I am thinking about changing priorities :-)

Hi,
Yes, there are maps/floorplans for all rooms of the starports described (class E+D). Included are Arrival, Departure, Bathroom, Hospital, Luggage, Office and Mescellaneous Rooms, Restaurants, Security+Customs, Server Room+Tower, Shops, and Tickets+Check-In. There is also an overview of the warehouse complex, although not as detailed as the other ones mentioned.
The 40 pages listed in the side bar are only the ones including the text and tables. All in all, there are more than 110 pages of maps, but keep in mind that the large number is based on the segmented nature of the maps.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
